GROW recently received a very generous donation from a well-known Co. Offaly business.

Kirsty Fyanes and Paul Judge, staff members in Brendan Bergin Butchers in Edenderry, presented a cheque to Marie Jones and John Farren, Area Co-ordinator with GROW in Ireland’s Midland Region. The donation was the proceeds of a collection box which is kept in the shop and to which the public contribute.Edenderry Cheque Presentation (2)

There has been a GROW mental health support group in Edenderry for fifteen years, and for several years two groups were held weekly in the town. GROW support groups are open to all aged over 18 and are free to attend. The current group meets in Edenderry Library at 11.00am on Friday mornings.

GROW provides mutual help and support to anyone experiencing mental health difficulties or struggling with any aspect of their mental health. Meetings are free, confidential and provide a safe, non-judgemental environment.

GROW is about breaking social isolation and promoting social connectedness. GROW centres on the idea that “you alone can do it, but you cannot do it alone” and uses the CHIME concept of recovery – Connectedness, Hope, Identity, Meaning and Empowerment.
