Coffee Morning in Wexford Town for World Mental Health Day
Help to promote mental health awareness by coming along to a coffee morning in Wexford for World Mental Health Week.
The coffee morning is being organised by GROW and will take place from 1-2pm on Tuesday, October 10th in Wexford Mental Health Association’s premises in Henrietta Street, Wexford. All are being urged to come along and join GROW in marking World Mental Health Day and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health.
World Mental Health Day takes place each year on October 10th, with events taking place nationwide and across the globe. The theme of World Mental Health Day 2017 is ‘mental health in the workplace’.
Ellen Ryle, GROW Area Coordinator, is urging people to come along on the morning and promote positive mental wellbeing.
‘The coffee morning is open to all and is about highlighting the importance of looking after our mental health, as well as our physical health. It is also about highlighting that mental health supports are available locally and that you are not alone. Pop in for a chat and a cuppa – we will have plenty of information on the day about looking after your mental health and wellbeing,’ emphasises Ellen.
GROW is Ireland’s largest community-based mental health organisation and has been helping people on the road to mental health recovery for almost 50 years. GROW holds 120 peer support group meetings in communities across Ireland each week including Wexford town. GROW meetings are free to -attend and open to those aged over 18.
