A mental health information night will take place later this month with a view to establishing a free weekly support group for residents ofGrowLogoCaption the Beara Peninsula.
The information evening, which is being hosted by GROW, will take place in the Beara Coast Hotel in Castletownbere on Tuesday, August 29th.
Getting underway at 8p.m, the free event is open to all and is being held with a view to establishing a local GROW community support group.
The information evening is being organised by Jerry Cronin, who is GROW’s local Area Coordinator.
“The information evening is a great way to learn more about GROW and to find out about the new community group which is being established in the area as well as the weekly practical steps, ongoing peer support and encouragement which GROW groups offer,” he said.
Jerry added: “GROW is about people helping each other on the road to recovery and promoting positive mental health and wellbeing. There are many people who are struggling alone. The meetings help people, who are experiencing mental health difficulties, to avoid isolation, create friendships and to work on their personal growth through a user-friendly, structured programme.”
