GROW Lends Support to ‘Hello Carlow, How RU?’
GROW is supporting Carlow Mental Health Association’s upcoming launch of “Hello Carlow, How RU?”
Thanks to support from KCLR FM and the very generous sponsorship of Flynn’s Carlow Nissan, the launch of the 4th annual “Hello Carlow, How R U?” campaign will be held in the Fairgreen Shopping Centre. The launch on Thursday, May 9th will be marked with a special broadcast of KCLR Live from 10am-12noon with Eimear Ni Bhraonain and her team.
Please come along and find out how you can help Carlow Mental Health Association volunteers, who will be available in Fairgreen from 10am to 8pm, to promote positive mental health for everyone in Carlow.
“We are delighted to support this powerful initiative and help raise awareness”, said Adrian Brennan, Dealer Principal with Flynns Carlow Nissan.
The “Hello Carlow, How R U?” campaign encourages asking neighbours, friends, family members and colleagues: “How RU?” in a meaningful way.
“Connecting face to face is so important for somebody who might be going through a tough time. If there is somebody in your life who you’ve been meaning to talk to, use ‘Hello Carlow, How R U?’ to reach out to them,” explains local volunteer Sinead Tynan.
“A listening ear, a little compassion, while following the five steps on the “Hello Carlow, How R U?” conversation cards, which will be available throughout Carlow in local shops, businesses and organisations for the campaign, could make all the difference,” she adds.
Later on Thursday, May 10th from 6pm-8pm, the Fairgreen premises formerly occupied by Bosco Butchers will be transformed into the “H.E.L.L.O. Hub”, as a space for people to come and connect and enjoy some entertainment by local musicians and performers.
Nearby, in Carlow Shopping Centre, Penneys and Sam McCauleys will again be involved in promoting the campaign and organisations including Bagenalstown Family Resource Centre will run events for the local community.
