Sun Beams Down on Southern Regional Weekend
The sun fittingly beamed down as GROW’s Southern Region gathered in Bantry, Co. Cork from March 31st to April 2nd for their Regional Weekend.
The feedback from members about the weekend was very positive, with a good balance of both fun and work.
Friday night kicked off with a Mindfulness workshop by Susan Crowley from the GROW office in Cork. This was followed by a fun quiz by Jerry Cronin, Area Coordinator. Well done to Susan and Jerry as all who attended greatly enjoyed both sessions.
Saturday started with a well put-together, honest testimony which inspired all who heard it. We had two speakers from outside GROW which were also thought-provoking.
Plenty of free time was provided on Saturday evening to give members time to relax or wander outside in the beautiful weather. Sunday morning started with a remembrance for the late Amy Lalor, which was coordinated by Diarmuid Cronin, Regional Chairperson. A large crowd attended this ceremony, with thanks extended to Diarmuid.
John Rice, Program Team member, ran two successful sessions on Saturday and Sunday. Many thanks to John for travelling from Kilkenny to conduct these workshops. Diarmuid Cronin also gave Regional Team updates and made a presentation to the previous chairperson Mary Brennan.
Area Coordinator Treasa Twomey would like to extend thanks to the GROW members who made the weekend such a great success and to John Lynch for taking the photos.
Sincere thanks is also extended to Treasa for submitting this piece.
