Coffee Morning in Wicklow to Mark World Mental Health Week

October 8th marks the commencement of World Mental Health Week when mental health awareness and the importance of looking after our mental wellbeing are promoted globally and locally.

To mark the occasion, the mental health charity GROW is hosting a coffee morning in Wicklow town on Friday, October 12th. The coffee morning will take place in the De la Salle Pastoral Centre, Wicklow Town (entrance from St. Patrick’s Church) from 10.30am to 1pm.

The event is being supported by lots of different agencies including Connecting for Life, the National Learning Network LINK Arklow, Wicklow Health Centre and the HSE’s Mental Health Engagement team among others.

All are being urged to come along and to promote positive mental health as well as awareness of the supports available locally for people struggling with their mental and emotional wellbeing.

The event is being organised by GROW Area Coordinator in Wicklow, Izabela Morris. She highlights the importance of seeking help, reaching out to others and the role of peer-support and mutual understanding in the GROW Programme and overall mental health recovery.

GROW peer-support groups are free to attend and confidential. A GROW meeting takes place at 2.30pm each Wednesday in the De La Salle Pastoral Centre, Wicklow Town.  For details of other GROW groups, visit www.grow.ie
