GROW Galway Strides into Summer

Ten GROW members from Galway city and county met up on May Bank Holiday Monday to take advantage of the fine weather and enjoy a ‘Walk an’ Talk’SalthillWalkView

Galway GROW members have a regular 12 step coffee meet-up every Sunday at 4pm, hosted by Susanna.

The lovely weather provided an opportunity to extend the meet-up and take in the sights, the fresh air and the great company and conversation.

“The route took us from Eyre Square, through the Spanish Arch, along the Claddagh and as far as the Promenade on Salthill,” explains Area Coordinator Alan Keaveney.

Contributors to the quarterly Western Regional Newsletter were also able to share feedback on the last issue and brainstorm for the upcoming summer issue.

The group is looking forward to enjoying a similar outing in the picturesque grounds of Esker Retreat Centre which will host the Western Regional Weekend from May 18th and 20th.

The theme of the weekend is “Resilience”. The agenda for the event includes talks and workshops on topics such as resilience, compassion-focused therapy, mindfulness, testimony writing and spirituality.

There will also be plenty of opportunity to relax and have fun with local musicians facilitating a sing-along session on the Friday night, a live band for Saturday night and a quiz and scenic walks in the grounds.
