Inspirational Kelsey (14) Raises Money for GROW
A Co. Wexford teenager is helping to promote mental health awareness while also lending support to others in need.
Kelsey Smith, aged 14, hails from Ardamine, near Gorey in Co. Wexford. She is the daughter of Lisa Van Balen who is a member of GROW in Gorey.
For the past number of months, Kelsey has been growing her hair for the Rapunzel Foundation, which is a charitable organisation that works to improve the lives of those living with hair loss. Kelsey’s hair will be cut and donated to the charity later this week.
The Rapunzel Foundation was established by Anna Furlong’s Hair Salon in New Ross, Co. Wexford and is now supported by a network of 450 salons nationwide.
As part of the Rapunzel Foundation’s Ponytail Campaign, people commit to growing their hair with the view to having it cut and sent to help make much-needed wigs to improve the lives of those living with hair loss.
While Kelsey is donating her luscious locks to the Rapunzel Foundation, she has also been raising money to support the ongoing work of GROW.
Huge thanks is extended to Kelsey for her fantastic fundraising endeavours on behalf of GROW and the Rapunzel Foundation.
