Two Free Mental Health Talks in Mayo
GROW is hosting two free talks in the Family Resource Centre in Claremorris, Co. Mayo later this month.
The first talk will take place on Tuesday, January 22nd from 6 to 9.30pm and is the suicide-alertness programme, SafeTALK.
Aimed at those aged 18 and over, SafeTALK teaches you about the four basic steps in recognising persons with thoughts of suicide and how to connect them with suicide intervention resources.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday January 29th, another presentation will take place from 7.30 to 9.30pm in the Family Resource Centre in Claremorris on the theme of mental health recovery.
Elaine Browne will talk about recovery, peer support and mental distress as a reaction to life’s events. This talk will give participants the opportunity to understand more about mental health difficulties and methods of coping with mental health struggles.
This talk would be beneficial for anyone with an interest in mental health, those who have experience of mental health difficulties or people with loved ones or friends who are struggling with their mental wellbeing.
Both talks are free of charge but places are limited. Contact GROW Area Coordinator in Mayo, Emily Grufferty on 086 4183543 for bookings.
