Walk and Talk Event for Green Ribbon Month

Posted on

On May 12th, a ‘Walk and Talk’ for SeeChange and Green Ribbon Month was held in the beautiful surroundings of Leebeen Park in Aughnacliffe, Co. Longford.

The walk was organised by Cavan GROW Organiser, Shane Reid. Shane has been attending GROW meetings for over 18 months and wanted to organise an event to raise awareness of the stigma that is attached to mental health.

The event was led by YouTube and stage comedians, Farmer Michael and Kathleen (aka comedian Steve Timothy and Sinead Nora) and was also attended by Minister of State for the Office of Public Works, Kevin “Boxer” Moran TD and country music legend Mick Flavin.

Members of GROW’s Cavan and Killashandra groups were among the many in attendance. The walk was followed by refreshments and the whole event was a great success.

Well done to Shane on his initiative and organisation. He is an inspiration to us all!
