Change

To wrap up our month-long exploration of CHANGE and the importance of embracing change in the context of recovery and mental wellness, we present our very first podcast in this new series about the core values that are the foundation of Grow Mental Health. Jenny, Michael and Kate spend some time answering the questions:

Why are so many of us are hesitant to make changes in our lives – are even frightened by the idea of change – even when we can see what the benefits might be for making a change – big or small – in our daily routines?

How do we know when it’s time to change?

What are some changes we can all make today that would help us to get used to the idea of doing or thinking about something differently? Talk about the little changes people in our Grow groups have made that have had a huge impact on their lives.

Is New Year messaging harmful? This idea of new year’s resolutions or wiping the slate clean – are we just setting ourselves up for failure and guilt?

Next month we will be discussing CONNECTION and would like to hear from you! What does connection mean to you in the context of your own wellness and mental health? Get in touch with some ideas: jennysynnott@grow.ie.

Sincere thanks to Kate and Michael for generously sharing their stories and wisdom. It’s only through this exploration of lived experience that others can see themselves and find hope. Thank you both.
